IF YOU USE A DONGLE:

No need to transfer anything.

The license is stored on the physical dongle (which we recommend replacing every 2 years to avoid normal wear and tear) so if for e.g. you get a new laptop, you simply install RadarOpus on the new laptop and then insert the dongle in the USB port. RadarOpus should work fine.

NEW MAC or USB-C PC’s users: remember that using a USB to USB-C adapter may affect how the dongle works. This is normally because of the amount of current travelling between the dongle, the adapter and the device. If it’s too low (because you use an adapter) the dongle may not be recognised or work properly. You can always contact support to check this. The 2 easy solutions are getting a USB-C dongle or a software license from us.

IF YOU USE A SOFTWARE LICENSE:

Yes you need to transfer your license!

Having a software license (i.e. your RadarOpus works without a dongle) means that everything is stored on your PC / laptop. If you get a new laptop, you need to contact our support and have your license “lifted” out of the old laptop and placed into the new laptop. If you forget to do this and e.g. format your Hard Drive or sell the laptop, we will not be able to retrieve the license and you will need to purchase a new one.

Simply re-installing RadarOpus software on the new device will not suffice, because the software does not work without an activated license.
